Dr. John G. Albertini joined The Skin Surgery Center in 2002 and cares for skin cancer patients at both Winston-Salem and Greensboro offices. Dr. Albertini serves as Chief Medical Officer for QualDerm Partners. Additionally, Dr. Albertini is a past president of the American College of Mohs Surgery and a volunteer associate professor at Wake Forest University Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Winston-Salem, N.C. Previously, he served as chief of Mohs Surgery at Wilford Hall USAF and Brooke Army Medical Centers after active duty Air Force military service in San Antonio.

Dr. Albertini earned his medical degree from the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago, and a bachelor’s in English from the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Ind. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of California in San Francisco, a Residency in Dermatology and a Fellowship in Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa.

Dr. Albertini is nationally renowned for his expertise in Mohs surgery and advanced reconstructive surgery. He has presented more than 50 local, regional and national lectures and has published more than 40 scientific articles and book chapters. Dr. Albertini served as president of the North Carolina Dermatologic Association in 2009, as assistant editor of the Journal Dermatologic Surgery from 2009-2014 and was invited to be guest editor for the Special Issue on Advanced Reconstruction published in 2014. Additionally, Dr. Albertini served as fellowship director of an ACMS and ACGME approved training program in Mohs surgery and Procedural Dermatology from 2007-2013.
