Dr. Peter Mattei is excited to join QualDerm Partners in North Carolina, bringing his expertise in Mohs micrographic surgery, dermatologic oncology, and cosmetic dermatology to patients across the region. He is fellowship trained in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology and is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgeons. In addition, he completed a cosmetic dermatologic surgery fellowship through the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.

After graduating from Drexel University College of Medicine, Dr. Mattei completed his dermatology residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and is a board-certified dermatologist. Before his training at Johns Hopkins, he served as a dermatology clinical trials research fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Dr. Mattei served on active duty as a flight surgeon, deploying in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in dermatology and dermatologic surgery and has received numerous awards for his military service and contributions to the field of dermatology.

Dr. Mattei is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American College of Mohs Surgeons, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He is committed to providing personalized, compassionate care and delivering exceptional surgical and cosmetic outcomes for his patients.
