Dr. Barry Leshin founded The Skin Surgery Center in 2001.

Dr. Leshin earned his bachelor’s degree from Duke University, and his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, and Residency in Dermatology and a Fellowship in Mohs surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. He served previously as Professor of Dermatology at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where he presently serves as clinical professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Leshin has authored more than 50 scientific articles and textbook chapters and lectured extensively at local, regional, national and international conferences. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American College of Mohs Surgery, where he has served on the Board of Directors, and is currently President.
