Dr Albertini joined the Skin Surgery Center in 2002 after serving as teaching faculty and Chief of Mohs Surgery at the combined Air Force - Army Dermatology Residency Program in San Antonio, TX at Wilford Hall USAF and Brooke Army Medical Centers.
In 2010 he completed his term as President of the North Carolina Dermatology Association. Each year since 2005, he has been selected by his peers as one of The Best Doctors in America. Dr Albertini serves as Fellowship Director for a 1-year fellowship in Procedural Dermatology accredited by The American College of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Nationally recognized for expertise in Mohs surgery and facial reconstruction, Dr Albertini serves as an Assistant Editor for the journal Dermatologic Surgery. In 2010, he was elected to serve on the Board of Directors of The American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS). He has published 33 scientific articles and book chapters and presented more than 50 lectures at local, state and national conferences. He currently holds a volunteer faculty position as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, whose residents rotate at The Skin Surgery Center.
